Nice to meet you!

My name is Chris and I am a photographer based in Auckland, New Zealand who specializes in landscape and travel photography. Admittedly, I am a keen student of all photographic and visual arts. To quote Einstein,” Once you stop learning, you start dying”.

I grew up in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I pride myself from an early age of growing up in a big city. Moving to Auckland in my early teens was a shell shock, which has shaped my world view to this day. In my late 20s, I moved to London, UK to see what other adventures awaited me. I’ve been told to “get the travel bug out of your system, once and for all!” Really, moving to Europe only made it worst. From the grand vistas of the Canadian Rockies to the questionable safety in a hot air balloon over Egypt, I could do this forever. I wanted to capture these moments in time and that’s when my passion for photography started to blossom.

After returning to Auckland after 4 years away, life was never the same again. Till this day, my thoughts are always of far-off places, aching for the next rush of adventure. Those adventures at times, put me in less-than-ideal situations. Once of which, got my camera gear stolen. It felt like I lost a part of me. I knew then, photography was very much as important as the adventure itself. I wouldn’t hike a mountain, cross a river or walk down a seedy part of an unfamiliar city without my camera.

I am so happy to be able to share some of those adventures with you! Please take your time, stay a while and have a look around!
